Meet The Team
James ‘Gus’ McEntire – Owner/President
His licenses are for both an A-General Contractor and a C-27 Landscape Contractor . An active member of the Shasta Builders Exchange for over 45 years. Past President of the local American Subcontractors Association. Certified with the International Society of Arboriculture, holds a Pest Control License, and provides pesticide and herbicide applications. Current member and past President of the Rotary Club of Redding, Riverview Sunset. James established McEntire Landscaping, Inc. in 1978.
Debbie Leone – General Manager
Debbie has been with McEntire Landscaping, Inc. since 1987 and handles the administration of all office duties, including office management, contract administration, Human Resources, payroll, and accounting. Debbie tracks all jobs , provides cost accounting reports, and assists with estimating material and supply procurement and coordinating projects.
Terry Pasero – Construction Superintendent
Terry has been with McEntire Landscaping, Inc. since 1986. He oversees irrigation and landscape design and installation. He has diversified knowledge in construction design, layout, and equipment operation and possesses completion certificates in Supervision and Management . Terry has also completed various irrigation manufacturer installation courses and sponsored landscape element training sessions. Terry oversees multiple projects and coordinates projects from pre-construction to final inspection and acceptance.
Rich Matlock – Lead Construction Supervisor & Shop Foreman
Rich has thirteen years of experience in the Green Industry. He has been a lead and shop foreman with McEntire Landscaping, Inc. since 2008. His expertise is also in engine mechanics. He oversees projects, runs the equipment, and has a commercial driver’s license. As an active leader, he manages all aspects of landscape construction: site, grading, drainage, hardscapes, irrigation, soil prep, planting, sod, turf, and erosion control. Rich has also completed irrigation classes and various safety training courses.
Alexis Easley – Designer
Alexis has been with McEntire Landscaping Inc. since 2023. She has spent her first year under the design guidance of senior designer Jim Coats. She joined our team shortly after graduating from Shasta College with an Associate of Science in Agriculture – Horticulture and Landscaping. Alexis has worked around plants all of her life and is very knowledgeable about caring for them. She is an Emerging Professional in the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD) and has also obtained her QWEL EPA Water Sense Professional Certification. Alexis is also the mastermind behind some of our most notable projects, such as the Eaton Garden design that was featured in the Redding Garden Tour as well as Enjoy magazine. In addition to designing, she writes our monthly newsletters.
